- نماز تمہارے لئے اس وقت تک حلال نہیں ہوتی جب تک تم غسل نہیں کر لیتے ،اے ایمان والو جب تم نماز کے لیے کھڑے ہونے کا ارادہ کرو اپنے چہروں کو دھو لو اور اپنے ہاتھوں کو کہنیوں تک دھو لو اور اپنے سروں کا مسح کرو اور اپنے پاؤں ٹخنوں تک دھو لو ،یہ چار فرائض وضو کے بیان کیے گئے ہیں کہ کم سے کم ان چار اعضاع کا دھونا ضروری ہے اور حدیثوں میں کچھ اور بھی اضافہ آیا ہے کہ محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم قلی بھی کیا کرتے تھے اور ناک میں پانی بھی ڈالا کرتے تھے تین دفعہ اور یہ بھی بتایا گیا ہے کہ اپنے سروں سے مسع کرو سروں سے پتہ چلا ہے کہ سارے سر کا مسح کرنا ضروری نہیں سر کے کچھ حصے کو آپ نے ہاتھ لگا لیا تو مسع ہو جائے گا تو اس آیت کی تفسیر میں کتنے وضو کے ارکان لازم ہیں کتنے مستحب ہیں فقہاء کا اختلاف ہے امام شافعی کے نزدیک
- امام احمد بن حمبل کلی کرنا اور ناک میں پانی ڈالنا بھی ضروری ہے بہتر ہے اور سنت مؤکدہ بھی ہے کہ ناک میں پانی ڈالا جائے اور کلی بھی کی جائے
